Charm elects new president!
by
Patrick Andrew C. Estorninos
Charm '98 has elected Christi
Anne de Guzman (see SpotLight, -ed)
as the new class president. Ms. de Guzman
won over the self-proclaimed acting
president Josef Brian Solidum. Due to
unavoidable circumstances, Solidum was
found to be a victim of unfair judgement.
Charm speaker Marvin Abing said:
"It's not fair. Only Solidum has the
qualities that would lead Charm to the
right path of greatness." While this
was Abing's words, the class felt more
comfortable with the new president. The
election, which was invoked because of
Solidum's inactiveness and laziness, can
be expected to be the last presidential
election for Charm '98.

Charm
wins second place in Linggo ng Wika

Last September
3, all 4th year sections joined the
interpretative presentation for the
Linggo ng Wika celebration. All sections
displayed their talents in dancing while
they interpreted their song.
It was required to interpret a song
related to nationalism. Charm chose the
song "Aawit Ako" by the
Musicians for Peace. The song primarily
deals with the country's social problems
during the 70's. Some of those problems
are still unsolved at the present.
After all presentations, the winners were
announced. Charm bagged the second place,
first place went to Graviton, while
Electron got the third place. Graviton
and Charm were asked to present the
following day in the Cultural Show. |

Charm enters Paskorus Finals,
loses.
by
Christian Sanchez
and Josef Solidum
In a
battle of the voices held in Pisay, Charm enters the
Paskorus Finals with a sweeping blow to the other
sections. The elimination consists of all sections from
all year levels compete by singing a Christmas song. The
judges will then tally their scores and pick eight
finalists. The other finalists were Graviton, Tau,
Photon, Potassium, Sodium, Cesium, and Champaca. Charm,
with their ever-blending voices sang the never faltering
Himig ng Hangin.
In the finals, Charm still used Himig ng Hangin and one
of the most widely used song: Pasko Na, Sinta Ko.
Unfortunately, Charm only landed fourth, giving way to
Cesium at first place.
Retro: A Success
by Josef Solidum
Last
November 13, Samapi staged a concert "Retro."
Featured bands were Smashing Yahwerts, R.A.U., Circa '98,
Papa 'N Toad, MEDEL, Charm Band, Black 'n White,
Invictus, Energon Cubes, Evolution, and Bandang Walang
Pangalan. The concert lasted from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.,
and dubbed as one of the most successful concert ever.
With hit oldies like "Light and Shade",
"It Might Be You", and "Awitin Mo at
Isasayaw Ko", the concert instilled in the heart and
minds of the audience that the golden oldies can still
capture the awe of the audience.
