ACET (or is it AH S--t)

Recently, most seniors took the Ateneo College Entrance Test (ACET). We all know if somebody wanted to enroll in Ateneo de Manila University, he or she must pass the ACET. Though most PSHS scholars prefer to go to the University of the Philippines, there are some who will go to Ateneo.

The Ateneo test was given last Oct. 18 and 19, 1997 in the morning and afternoon. The students were given four hours to read the instructions and answer the exam. Those who took the test in the later batches heard that it (the exam) was a little difficult. But when they were already answering the questions, they found out it is really difficult.

Other people would think that because we are from Pisay, we will easily pass the ACET. The questions were not hard but it was the lack of time that made the test seem difficult. There was one part with 25 items that should be answered in only five minutes. Most examinees were forced to make "hula" in the remaining numbers because they were not able to finish some parts of the test.

I talked to some of my friends. According to them "kulang na kulang sa oras yung test." One even said that in a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 as the most difficult, the UPCAT is -1, the DLSU exam is 2 while the ACET is 11. Others were very depressed that according to them, "siguradong babagsak sila." But still some are hoping that they will pass the ACET and study in Ateneo next school year.

Sixty-six days to go and we’re off! Yes!!! Well, that’s the usual reaction when we think about all the projects we have to do in the coming few days. It’s our only consolation and the 1998 presidentiables are: Physics Toy, Computer Science software, Research project, Advanced Electronics project, Soc. Sci term paper or documentary, and last but not the least, the English book review. Pick your vote. Just thinking about it already makes me exhausted. What more when we’re already doing them. Sshheesh. Patience people, patience!

I noticed that a lot of guys have a feeling of anxiety because of the upcoming graduation ball. Some are hesitating to ask because the person they like might already have a date. Others are just afraid to ask - or should we call them "torpe." Personally, I can’t understand why even the most courageous guys lose their tongue when they’re in front of the girl they like. Is it because of our charm, or wit, our beauty, our personality, or all of the above? Hey guys, turn your head! Think there’s a guy about to ask Sandra, Sam, Angelyn, Jusann, Tiny, Thea, S-1, S-2, S-4, S-5, S-3 (???) not to mention M&M. So what are you doing still reading, make your move and fast.
