4-Charm renamed 4-Bry

by Patrick Andrew C. Estorninos

As of the 33rd Foundation Week of the Philippine Science High School, the section 4-Charm ceased to exist. It is now known as 4-Bry. This action was undertaken to honor the god of charm, boy charming himself, Brian Caparas. The name was shortened from Brian to Bry because the class was deemed unworthy of using the whole name for what are mere students compared to gods. With this, the student of the section hope to receive amounts of charm from Brian Caparas. Boy Charming, as he is fondly called, expressed his thanks and said, “I hope that my charm would not only be contain within me, but spread with the whole class, for without 4-Charm, there will not be 4-Bry.

Batch `98's Night a success
by Josef Solidum

Everybody should be credited for Batch 98’s very successful Batch Night last August . Headed by Mrs. Ligaya Cion, our batch adviser and our batch officers, the party was a blast. Besides having a mega-huge concert organized by our very own Josef Solidum, batch representative of SAMAPI, a mobile-disco was also provided for. Everybody had a great time, even for some that didn’t get the chance to dance with their crush. Food was provided for from McDonalds. Papa ‘n Toad, and 3.16, two of our batch’s premier bands won the award of being the best bands for the night.

Charm tiangge gains
by Christian Sanchez

During the 33rd Foundation Week, Charm had been actively participating in a Social Science project concerning tiangge. The section had sold food during the celebration and had earned as much as P2,500 net.
The food sold were prepared by a number of students who volunteered to help in cooking, preparation, acquiring ingredients, and marketing. A Charm student, Kartini Reyes, hosted the said preparation in her house, and thus sponsored a number of kitchen utensils with one, still requiring replacement.
The food consisted of packaged meals, side dishes, snacks, and drinks. Among the meals prepared were chicken adobo, lechon kawali, and beef stew. To complement the meals side dishes such as corn & carrots, and mushrooms were included at half the usual price. Snacks such as cookies and cheese sticks proved to be profitable, while siomai balls were only sold out at bargained prices. Fruit sodas, averaging 45 cans per day, was the best sold product since it sells out in thirty minutes.
The tiangge was one of the most exhaustive yet most outstanding display of Charm’s ability to work as a team. With unity and cooperation, victory is achieved, and thus a good grade in the class project.

Lorilla new Batch President

In a recently conducted elections for Batch Officers of Batch ’98, Charm’s very own top man won the seat of being Batch ‘98’s President. Beating Victoria Costales and Joana Segundo by a small margin, the Labuyo Soccer Varsity star proudly displayed his emotions after the election. Now Batch President Lorenzo M. Lorilla feels that he is more than capable of handling the task with a little luck and lots of charm (pun intended). In the same election, Kartini Bianca Reyes was narrowly defeated by Monica Jara for being the batch treasurer. Reyes was dismayed but held on with the help of her friends from Charm and Truth. The other officers were Elena Dacanay, vice-president; Cherilie Candelaria, secretary; and Cherry Anne Vergel de Dios as PRO.

Solidum new Charm President

Because of Lorenzo Lorilla’s newly held job for being the Batch President, he had to leave his old one of being Charm President. Not wanting to leave Charm without a top man, he, along with the Charm Vice-President Ricarido Saturay decided to appoint a new President. The chosen one? Who else but Josef Solidum, one of Batch ‘98’s most popular figure. It was meant to be that Saturay would be the new Charm President, but instead the Corps Commander decided to appoint Solidum instead. Solidum now engages his responsibilities and new duties with determination that has become his trademark. “This proves us that Solidum not only has a pretty face, but also the leadership qualities that make him a great president” says Abing, Charm’s PRO.
