Blue Team murders
Black Team, 50-20

The Blue Team,
composed of students from Charm and
Truth, defeated the Black Team,
consisting of Muon and Tau, last August
1. The basketball game was part of the
batch’s intramurals.
The game was divided into four 10-minute
quarters. The first quarter started with
both squads struggling to score. Players
were missing a lot of shots and committed
a lot of turnovers. The quarter ended
with the score, 8-7, in favor of the
Black Team.
The Blue Team tightened up their defense
and used their speed to their advantage.
They only allowed their opponents to
score four points while they scored ten
points. The Charm & Truth team took
the first half, 18-11.
The Black Team played a big line-up at
the start of the second half. But still
they muffed a lot of attempts, while the
Blue Team took advantage, the latter with
a lot of poise, confidence, intensity,
and cohesiveness. The blue team combined
good ball movement in their offense with
quick hands and feet in defense. They
outsprinted their counterparts scoring
one lay-up after another.
A slight altercation between Allen Ayusa
(Blue), and Lee Britanico (Black)
happened in the third quarter. The former
did not react, as he displayed his
trademark killer-smile after the
incident. The quarter ended, 33-16, in
favor of the Tech Squad (Blue).
Players of Charm and Truth continued to
play brilliant basketball as they piled
up the points. Shots from the perimeter
and the shaded area to fall fell as the
lead ballooned to 24 points.
The Tech Team played well in both sides
of the court. As the winning margin is
bigger than the Black Team’s score.
The former outdid the latter in most
statistical categories - rebounds,
assists, blocks, and steals.
Novis Lagunay led the winning squad with
10 points, followed by Allen Ayusa and
Wilbert Peņalosa, 9 and 8 points,
respectively. Brian Caparas and Dale
Iranon both 4 points, while Dino del
Rosario nailed a 3-point basket. Six
players scored one basket each namely:
Karlo Castro, Carlo Mataverde, Joe Carlo
Altea, Sherwin Santiago, Lorenzo Lorilla,
and Erik Evangelista. |

Blue Team kills Black Team again

In a recent heavyweight
soccer game, the Blue Team, composing of select players
from Charm and Truth, slaughtered the Black Team which
were composed of Tau and Muon. At the first half, the
Blue Team was caught off-guard by a surprise move by
Serge Barsaga. He scored a goal which progressed the
score to 0-1. By the second half, the Blue Team turned
the tide on Black Team’s weak defenses. Solidum
scored a goal with the assist of Caparas who dribbled the
ball to the edge of Black Team’s defenses and bombed
it to Solidum to finish it off. The game ended with a
tie, 1-1, and as such, required a shoot-out to determine
the winner. Blue Team’s goalie, Lagunay, blocked all
of Black Team’s powerful kicks, leaving them
scoreless. Salas however, has scored a goal then, Solidum
finished the game with another goal that sealed the Black
Team’s faith.
